Jennifer Lopez’s Son Max Has Already Explored the World of Acting

Jennifer Lopez’s son, Maximilian “Max” David Muñiz, has already experienced working on a professional film. In 2022, he appeared briefly in Marry Me, the romantic comedy starring his mother alongside Owen Wilson.

The appearance introduced him to filmmaking, but it does not necessarily mean he has decided to pursue acting as a career. For now, it remains an early creative experience rather than evidence of a confirmed Hollywood future.

Growing Up in a Creative Family

Max and his twin sibling, Emme, were born on February 22, 2008, to Jennifer Lopez and singer Marc Anthony. They turned 18 in February 2026.

With parents known for music, performance, and film, the twins have grown up connected to the entertainment industry. However, having famous parents does not determine a young person’s ambitions. Their individual interests and choices remain their own.

An Introduction to Performing

Before his appearance in Marry Me, Max participated in a school production of The Wizard of Oz. Lopez shared footage of the performance in 2020, offering a glimpse of his experience onstage.

School theater gives young performers opportunities to practice teamwork, learn dialogue, and develop confidence in front of an audience. A film production introduces different skills, including working with cameras, following direction, and repeating scenes across multiple takes.

Max’s experiences show that he has explored performance in more than one setting. They do not, on their own, establish what he intends to do professionally.

A Brief Role in Marry Me

Released in 2022, Marry Me features Lopez as a music star whose life takes an unexpected turn. Max’s involvement was a small cameo rather than a leading or substantial supporting role.

That distinction matters when describing his acting experience. Calling the appearance a major career launch would go beyond the available information. It is more accurate to describe it as an introduction to professional filmmaking.

Finding an Individual Direction

Lopez has spoken about watching her children become more independent. In a 2023 interview with Today, she described them questioning the world and approaching life differently from how she did at their age.

Her comments reflect a familiar part of parenting: recognizing that children develop their own opinions, interests, and priorities as they mature.

For young people from well-known families, public attention can make ordinary milestones seem like career announcements. Yet attending an event or taking a small role does not reveal every aspect of someone’s plans.

Max has already tried acting through school theater and a brief film appearance. Whether he builds on those experiences or chooses another direction, his next chapter remains his own to shape.
